Tips on storing food

Due to improper storage techniques, each family is expected to throw more than 50 pounds of food every month and spend $ 40 for groceries that eventually decompose and must be discarded. Foodstuffs such as vegetables, fruits, spices milk until it included in the item that could not last long and easily rot. Therefore, proper storage system to be conducted so that the food is not wasted. Consider the following safety tips.


1. eggs

Store eggs in egg cups sold in the market as a rack and store in a refrigerator. In this way the eggs can last up to 4 weeks from the date of purchase.

2. meat

Keep the meat in a special container which covered a refrigerator that can be used up to 3-4 days. When the new will be processed in a long time frozen meat in the freezer.

3. hard cheese

Wrap the cheese in plastic or airtight foil so cheese can be used 2-4 months from the date of purchase.

4. Milk and yogurt

Save the yogurt in the refrigerator to keep the good bacteria alive until they reach the digestive tract and can be consumed up to 2 weeks after purchase. In the meantime, you should not store milk refrigerator door because the air temperature tends to be warmer here. This will shorten the life of the milk.

5. vegetable

Make sure the vegetables are dry when stored. Water remaining stems or leaf section can accelerate decay. You can also wrap the vegetables with dry paper.

6. Fruits

Fruits should be stored in a plastic container that has vents. Separate rotten fruit with good condition. Especially for apples that have been peeled, you can sprinkle the lemon water to prevent sedkit brown color on the skin. Avoid storage near the vegetable apples because apples produce ethylene, a chemical that can make a quick vegetable decay.
