The doctors concluded that she had suffered brain death. Doctors were preparing to take her organs to be donated. But then, she suddenly passed out while on the operating table. At that time he was only in a coma.
Over the incident, the hospital was fined U.S. $ 6,000 after the state Health Department of New York found that the doctors had ignored signs that Burns was still breathing.
